Drum Battle at Frenchy's Gallery
Just when I thought I had seen it all, last night we were hangin out at Maple Leaf eatin crawfish et al, when Ru comes up to me and informs me of a “drum battle” that would take place across the street at Frenchy's Gallery where Mean Willie Green has his drums set up....we followed Yonrico Scott across the street and low and behold the sounds of what only could be Willie Green are bouncing off the walls from the back end of the gallery pouring out onto Maple Street. What took place there was truly amazing and unheard of......Raymond Weber, Mac's drummer, Royal Southern Brotherhood's Yonrico Scott, and Neville Bros drummer Mean Willie Green proceeded to amaze.....so who were the winners.....the 15ish people who were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time....only in New Orleans......Happy Jazz fest everyone!!
