Had a couple of cool jobs over Mardi Gras one being doing a shoot for Stanton Moore and Galactic for a story in Japanese drum magazine “Rhythm and Drums”. Did some of the shots at souncheck and then later that evening was able to shoot and enjoy another unbelievable Mardi Gras show with Galactic at Tipitinas Uptown. Special guests included, My Name is John Michael, Mystikal performing “Shake Ya Ass” among others, Grammy Award winning Trombonist Corey Henry from Rebirth Brass Band, Big Chief Juan Pardo and of course Corey Glover who performed a incredible version of Zepplin's “How Many More Times” along with his own “Cult of Personality” backed flawlessly by Galactic.....a musical Mardi Gras Gumbo was served on a silver platter to the delight of a sold out packed house....actually wanted to head down to Big Sams show late at the Blue Nile, but even after getting the images needed for a Japanese Drum Magazine spread on Stanton Moore and Galactic, I had trouble leaving the Galactic show. As usual, Galactic's second set is ramped up making it next to impossible to leave......ahhhh the problems we have..........Enjoy the pix!
