Had another classic visit from my kinda people yesterday at the gallery from new client and friend Paul H. and Co. from Safety Harbor Florida after they had a late lunch at Mothers over on Poydras. They had been in town since Thursday or Friday takin in the sights and lots of sounds of the city. I had communicated back and forth with Paul after he sent an email at 4:00am Saturday expressing interest in a Little Freddie King piece hanging in dba on Frenchmen St. which I had forgotten about with all of the work I am doing at the studio. They arrived over at the gallery around 3pm yesterday seemingly in no rush, even though their flight was leaving at 4:45.......After hangin out and talking for an hr or so, Paul hops on the phone with Southwest Airlines, casual as ever, explains to the agent that it doesn't look like were leaving today and re books the flight to leave late afternoon today. After talkin for another hr and picking out a couple pieces, of course a Little Freddie King, to be personally autographed by the King, they ask, so where are we goin tonight Jerry? Since they had basically assaulted dba and Frenchmen St.,(some pretty funny stories too), I perused the WWOZ music Calendar, the choice was an easy one, I sent them out of the downtown area over to the Maple Leaf Bar to catch Eric Bolivar, Nigel Hall, Jake Eckert, Donald Ramsey where I am certain they had another memorable evening, and who knows if they will leave today.......gotta love it.....;-)
