Went and checked out Patty Griffin's solo acoustic show at Tipitinas last night. What a beautiful evening in front of a large crowd at Tips. I had never seen Patty before but have heard really good things and am very glad I went for the opening of her Solo Acoustic Tour. Apparently it has been some time since she has performed solo, to the great delight of the crowd. Don't miss this one if Patty visits anywhere near you, trust me..... Patty is an amazing performer and storyteller, capturing the crowds attention almost immediately and not letting go for the entire set which I thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that I picked up her “Children Running Through” CD this morning. I headed over to the Maple Leaf afterwards to catch an intriguing lineup with Johnny Vidacovich joined by Ben Ellman and Robert Mercurio of Galactic along with June Yamagishi, another AMNAZING show and nice way to round out the evening indeed.
