Added pics Kenny Brown at dba and from Colin Lake at the Blue Nile on Frenchmen St.......So last night I was resting comfortably on my couch resigned to staying in last night until I started fiddling around on Facebook and watched this Shannon McNally video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9wAOUeniGZ0 “Bohemian Wedding Prayer” @ Music in the Hall in Oxford Mississippi. Always been a big fan of Shannon's and really don't recall having ever seen Shannon, who was joined by Amy LaVere for the whole set, in an intimate club setting like dba, and with North Mississippi Bluesman Kenny Brown on the bill also, well needless to say I got off the couch and headed over to Frenchmen St. for some “medicine”. As expected the show was amazing and was pleasantly surprised when Papa Mali joined the band onstage for most of the set carefully injecting his gris gris riffs in the background. I would love to see more of this which I mentioned while walkin down Frenchmen with them after the show. Kenny Brown was on fire also, and so was Colin Lake who I ran into earlier in front of the Blue Nile where come to find out, he was playin too.....last night was one of those nights where there is a tangible vibe happening on Frenchmen St. that you can almost taste, really glad I made it out......I'll post Kenny Brown and Colin Lake images when I can get to them soon, time to get ready for a shoot tonight.....
