Had the distinct pleasure of spending an evening last week with Mac and Shannon McNally at the studio for a relaxing photo shoot and some “Small Town Talk”, Shannon's upcoming and very special release (the songs of Bobby Charles) produced by Mac Rebennack and his Lower 911 Band, strings and horns arranged by Wardell Quezergue. Have always been a big fan of Shannon's work and this CD will make some waves for sure so be sure to grab it when released, trust me..... What started as a photo shoot quickly morphed into a relaxing evening of good conversation with Mac, Shannon and my lovely lady and lighting assistant Alex. And special thanks to Mimi(as always) and Mimi's in the Marigny for the opportunity to take a couple shots to round out the shoot. Mimi is always most hospitable for my location shoot requests. You can't go wrong there as the place oozes N'awlins from every crack and crevice. To top it off we were able to enjoy some fantastic music by Meschiya Lake & the Little Big Horns who have three new fans......... Good times 4sho.....;-) More images can be seen at at http://www.nativeorleanian.org/shannon_mcnally_dr_john_photo_shoot
