Nine Lives CD and Listening Party at Kajuns January 29Here are some images from the packed house at Kajun’s on St. Claude in attendance for the CD listening and press party for “Nine Lives: A Musical Adaptation” by Paul Sanchez and Colman deKay. Definitely a successful night on all accounts with almost everyone involved in the production in attendance, a whose who of New Orleans Culture and beyond. To top things off, the Tobecontinued BrassBand squeezed in the front door of the hall and proceeded to blow the roof off the place, surely a night to remember on all accounts. Funky Meters at Tipitinas New OrleansCaught the Funky Meters at Tipitinas in New Orleans last night, talk about a low down funky ass night, great to see Papa Funk layin it down……I have officially received my medicine. More images to come….. Dash Rip Rock at dba on Frenchmen Street January 13th 2011Great night for music as usual at dba on Frenchmen St. last Friday with Dash Rip Rock and opening band The Unnaturals. As expected, Dash Rip Rock put on a great show with some new and many old classics….additionally The Unnaturals lathered up the crowd nicely before Dash, really enjoyed them also. I was able to get to the Dash pix today….will post a few from the Unnaturals later….enjoy the pix…
Paris France Vacation ImagesI am starting to go through some of the images from Paris last week, every time I look through I don’t know where to start so here is a sprinkling of some……will be adding over the next few weeks or so as I can get to them….enjoy the pics! Big Chief Monk Boudreaux’s Birthday at TipitinasLast Friday I had the pleasure of celebrating Big Chief Monk Boudreaux’s “31st” birthday at Tipitinas Uptown. Monk was backed by Mean Willie Green on Drums, Billy Iuso on Guitar, Johnny Sansone on harmonica, Jimmy Carpenter on sax, Cyril Neville, Keven Brennan, John Lisi, Ben Labat, Tab Benoit and many many others…..what a great and special evening.
