Wild Magnolias Recording session with Big Chief Bo Dolis and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

Today was one of those days that I will remember for a long long time. Big Chief Bo Dolis and and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux recording together again for the first time in over 15 years. Over the past few months I have been documenting these recording sessions for Bo Dolis Jr's Wild Magnolias upcoming CD release, but this is the day I have been looking forward to, along with many others in the studio today. On point, the song recorded was “Bye Bye, One More Time”, a fitting tribute to the long and thick Wild Magnolias history to have both Big Chiefs to be recording the later bookend of the CD. Yes, today was a very special day at Nola Recording Studio .....rooted deeply in the music and heritage of the New Orleans Indian Tradition.
