Fess' "House Party New Orleans Style" at at Tip's last Saturday was a show I saw on the calendar a month or so ago and have been looking forward to ever since. It was another one of those special nights that happen every so often down here. Thats just what happen's when you put George Porter Jr and the Tipitinas Allstars(Terrence Houston, Michael Lemmler, Brint Anderson, Brian Graber and Khris Royal) as the “house band” to be joined throughout the evening by the likes of Dr. John, Ellis Marsalis, Jon Cleary, Ed Volker, Donald Harrison Jr., and more on the benefit bill to help restore the former Byrd family home on Terpsichore Street. Professor Longhair was surely lookin down(if not there) with a big smile on his face as his music filled the room all evening.
Passed by and popped a couple off at the NOLA Suspects live CD recording at the Maple Leaf Bar 9-30-12 on way home from Tipitinas
