2011 Voodoo Experience New Orleans LouisianaTaking a short break from revamping my photography studio and gallery this am and had some time do some “edit therapy”……… went back thru The New Orleans BINGO! Show performance at Voodoo Fest a couple weeks ago, definitely one of my favorite shows from this years fest. What an amazing performance on all accounts….. Finally made it all the way through the Voodoo Fest line up, at least what I saw…..added Peelander-Z, Portugal the Man(great show btw), a few Ray Davies, Snoop Dog, Social Distortion TV on the Radio and Tommy Malone. Need to make a second pass thru a few shows when I have time, like The New Orleans Bingo! Added some more from a couple shows already visited in addition to some Dr. John with Walter Wolfman Washington, Irma Thomas, and Cyril Neville, some of the Meters and Raconteurs……More to come… Been having a blast out at Voodoo Fest 2011 in City Park over the weekend…..started off Friday with some time at the Bingo Parlor with the highly energetic and entertaining Japanese punk band Peelander-Z, great show…….Jeremy Lyons with members of Morphine was great at The Preservation Hall Stage followed by Beausoleil with Dr. Michael White…..Caught a little Ani DiFranco with Ivan Neville and Herlin Riley. Ernie Vincent and the Top Notes were smokin on the Pres Hall stage a little Quintron and Miss Pussycat and then of course SOUNDGARDEN, the highlight of the day for me. Saturday continued with many others including Tommy Malone and the Hard Heads, Social Distortion, Snoop Dog who was incredible especially when joined on stage by MystiKal…..won’t forget that show too soon…..Blink 182 was great too along with Bobby Rush and of course the New Orleans Bingo Show, but the set that was on total and complete fire was Ivan Neville and Dumpstafunk joined by Walter Wolfman Washington, members of Fishbone and others….wow is all I can say about that show. One more day with Mac, the Original Meters, and more…..here are some quickies I was able to do this am….many many more to come next week….. here are some vids done by Voodoo Fest enjoy!!
