Photo Shoot for The M&M's Melts In Your Mind at Living Room Studios New Orleans La.
Every now and then a few musicians that already have their own successful gig's goin branch off into side projects, one of the latest of which is The M&M's, featuring Robert Mercurio and Stanton Moore of Galactic, Papa Mali and John Medeski. I heard about them sometime earlier this year playing at a fest in the NY area, and without even hearing a note, immediately saved those dates. You see, when you put four creative guys together of this caliber, you don't need to hear it first.......you just know something special will happen. Unfortunately I was not able to make it to where they were playing, and for the life of me I can't remember the festival(probably out of self preservation). So when I received a call from Papa Mali a couple weeks ago seeing if I had time to do a quick marketing shoot for The M&M's epk I was more than happy to oblige, even with having 3 shoots already scheduled in a 50 hr. period with quick turnaround. I mean hell, whats the difference between 3 and 4, sleep is overrated anyway......So fast forward two weeks and voila, we have the release of 'Melts In Your Mind' , the premier single from the Supergroup The M&M's, mixed by Claudio Cueni and mastered by Kurt Wipfli, brought to us by Nicholas Cunningham and Forever Humble Records who I am more than happy to have as my newest client. There is a slideshow below with the soundtrack being an interview by Jams Plus Media with Papa Mali and Robert Mercurio about how the band was conceptualized and where they're headed. And as for the art of immediate gratification, the premier single "Melts In Your Mind" is ready for consumption on itunes
Really lookin forward to see'n where these guy's take it, and count me in, I'll be along for the ride! Jerry ;-)
