Royal Southern Brotherhood perform the Rolling Stones Classic LP Exile on Main Street
Just ran across another Jazz Fest night shoot that I honestly didn't recall till I ran across yesterday.....The Royal Southern Brotherhood performed a tribute to the Rolling Stones' quintessential album, "Exile on Main Street" offering "Exile on Royal Street," a tribute to the Rolling Stones' LP and one of my favorites, so after a long day at Jazz fest, this was a nice treat. And what a beautiful setting, City Park's Botanical Gardens........ I've been lookin forward to this show since talking about it with Rueben Williams last year. The thing I remember most about the show was the FIYA and I mean serious FIYA that a seemingly possessed Cyril Neville brought and poured all over the stage and crowd...the voice...the moves....Cyril had transported himself back to the 70's. Most of the night I just sat back and enjoyed the performance with a big smile on my face, but I did also manage to pop off a few stills......Enjoy!! Jerry ;-)
And while on the subject of Royal Southern Brotherhood, I got my hands on a pre release copy of "heartsoulblood" Ruf Records and have been listening to it for a couple days.....Do yourself a favor and put this one on your “gotta have” list, release date is June 11th......
