Kermit Ruffins at the Highline Ballroom May 17 2011While up in New York last month to receive my Ocean Inspiration award from the Cousteau’s, I had the opportunity to catch Kermit Ruffins the night before the awards ceremony at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. Really nice time as I was able to eat a wonderful dinner on the balcony with Alex and enjoy an incredible show put on by Kermit and company……and of course snap a few frames off throughout the night, only had my 24-70mm lens but it worked out fine. Tab Benoit photo shoot on May 31 2011 in Houma LouisianaI had the pleasure of doing an on site photo shoot with Tab Benoit down in Houma Louisiana to get some promo shots for his record label Telarc. We were able to find a nice shaded area behind what I believe was the Magnolia Plantation on hwy 331. I brought my portable studio lighting and a nice quiet generator to assist in getting optimum lighting, which was definitely an asset. I had a nice balance of shoots this week with an in studio with Shamarr Allen for his new cd and this on site with Tab, a real nice change of pace. Enjoy the pics!! BP Oil Spill 1 Year Anniversary Benefit Shows at House of Blues and Tipitinas DowntownSpent the greater part of the evening yesterday, 4-21-11, runnin around downtown checkin out some great music at Lafayette Square with Anders, at the House of Blues A Benefit concert for Harmony For Health with Kevin Costner and the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars, with special guest Allen Toussaint, and slippin over to talk with Mac at Tipitinas Downtown for a few minutes at the Guitars for The Gulf/Solution To Pollution show, featuring Mac, Shannon McNally and many others……an incredible gumbo it was, will post more pics later but here’s a taste. Also included are some images from a gathering in the French Quarter the night before the BP Oil Spill HOB Benefit concert for Harmony For Health with Kevin Costner and the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars. Just added the musical slideshow with images from the past year in chronological order that was played at both the HOB and Tipitinas BP 1st Anniversary Benefits last Wednesday for those not able to attend.
