If this is your first time here, glad to have you visit! Been a pretty busy last few months but have finally had some time to go through the past year, at least a little bit….Over the past few months met a ton of new folks and it has been a pleasure talking with all, so many people out there from all over truly moved by our wonderful and unique culture. There is a lot of material to see on the site, you can expand the categories or older posts tab at the bottom of this page and look around that way, along the top of this page there are several tabs to activate by clicking, the most popular being the portfolio/slideshow tab which will bring you to a page where I have posted about 15 musical slideshows of some events I have covered and shoots I have done, ENJOY! I have only had the time to put about 10% of my work on the site but you get the idea of what I do, the good news is that I have a Studio and Gallery in the Bywater at which you can have access to all of my work. I have been transferring most of my work over to my web store which can be accessed from the store tab above or this link… http://www.nativeorleanian.org/ Having people over to the gallery is the part of what I do that I enjoy most because ultimately we all become good friends after what was supposed to be a 20 minute visit turns into 5 hours. So don’t hesitate to give me a buzz and make an appointment, I live next door and work here so if I’m not out on a shoot, I’m generally available by appointment at anytime my schedule permits! I have an inventory of autographed limited edition prints on hand autographed by Dr. John, George Porter Jr., Kermit Ruffins, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Al “Carnival Time” Johnson, Anders Osborne, Cyril Neville, John Mooney, Uncle Lionel Batiste, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Juvenile and Big Sam Williams and if I don’t have them on hand I can easily arrange to have any print autographed upon request, just inquire for details….and you can be assured that the musicians are paid generously from your purchase of these special prints. As you can see what my passion is, I do have a large inventory of New Orleans scenes and Architecture which embody the same beautiful message. I also am set up for on site or in studio photo shoots and have many large corporate clients working with them in fields such as marketing, architecture and food. I also shoot occasional weddings alone, concentrating on capturing the most personal, powerful and intimate moments of such a special occasion. Ive seen many Neil shows over the years and this one has topped my favorites list. Was able top catch numerous others including Silversun Pickups, Nas, New Orleans Bingo Show, Paul Sanchez, Gary Clark Jr, Little Freddie King, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, 101 Runners,Metalica , Jack White, Anders Osborne, Little Freddie King, Paul Sanchez, Gary Clark Jr., George Porter Jr., 101 Runners and and another killer show right up there with Neil Young as far as I am concerned Cheick Hamalla Diabate I am sure I am leaving a couple out, will finish next week……..More images and a musical slideshow can be seen at at http://www.nativeorleanian.org/voodoo_fest_2012

Here are a few pics from the Crescent City Blues and Barbecue Festival at Lafayette Square this past weekend. I was able to get over there on Saturday to catch Ernie Vincent and the Top Notes, Little Freddy King, and Johnny Sansone. Can’t ask for a better blues triple header on a beautiful afternoon. Headed over to Houma last night also for the Voice of theWetlands Festival, which has become my all time favorite fest on a Sunday, theres just no better way to end a weekend……I’ll have pics from the VOW Fest up tomorrow. Enjoy the pics, Jerry ©2005-2012 Jerry Moran Native Orleanian LLC Voice of the Wetlands Festival in Houma Louisiana 2012There’s just no better way to end a “festival” weekend than heading down to Houma for the closing of the Voice of the Wetlands Festival with the VOW Allstars jammin late into the evening, this year joined onstage by the one and only Elvin Bishop and Mickey Thomas (Jefferson Starship) to wish Cyril Neville a Happy Bday and and jam with the Allstars the rest of the show, incredible show!! I arrived in time to also catch the Original Wild Magnolias with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band. A rightious evening of music indeed! Thanks to Rueben Williams et al for putting together another stellar fest with the most attendance ever, can’t wait till the 10thAnniversary next year! Anders Osborne with the Bonarama Horns and Dave Malone Harvest the Music 9-3-12That makes two weeks in a row of incredible music at the Harvest the Music concert at Lafayette Square in New Orleans. This week Anders Osborne put on another amazing show which was escalated to another level when the horns from Bonarama and Dave Malone from the Radiators joined Anders onstage to cook up some good “gumbo”. Others joined onstage, one I distinctly remember is Austin based guitarist Eric Tessmer who I have never heard before, only found out who he was the next day from Anders who he’s chillin with for a few.
