Finally time to catch up a little on some "gems" from Jazz Fest night shows......kind of a necessity to get the mind straight  after 2 weeks of Jury Duty........... During the week that bridges the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May dragon_smoke_OEJ_jm_043014_010During the week that bridges the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May, you know....that Jazz Fest thing.......On Tuesday of that week as far as I'm concerned there's one place annually I know I'm gonna end up, at One Eyed Jacks to see Dragon Smoke. Stanton Moore, Ivan Neville, Eric Lindell and Robert Mercurio........when these guys step on stage together, somethin real special happens, each elevates pushin the other higher and higher into the night to the delight packed house visibly enjoying the ride. And for an appetizer earlier that evening at d.b.a., caught The Treme Brass Band, hung out backstage shootin the shit with Little Freddie King and Walter Wolfman Washington, the caught a good bit of the first set of LFK before heading to One Eyed Jacks. Quite a night of music as it is every year.....Enjoy the pix!!
